Wulai Resort

Jimmy promised us that if we went to the top of the Wulai waterfalls, we could swim in a pool there.

Well, not quite right – there was a pool, but it certainly wasn’t in the waterfall – and it was FREEZING!

Nice place though – even though there was no meat for breakfast!!!

Songkran 2013

Bit of a mix of photos here – Bangkok, Pattaya and Hua Hin 🙂

Should have taken more, but we were too busy with the water fights!

Happy Songkran!

Top of 101

Well, not much to say with this one.

Took the elevator to the top of 101 – looked around, went back down.

But oh yes, you can see our house from here!

Bonus points if you spot it too!

Mrs Piggyton’s Bali Birthday

The real reason we were here.

Mrs Piggyton was turning 23 and she needed to do it in style.

It started off with her morning breakfast, then a dip in the pool, off to the ice cream palour for some ice cream, a bit of shopping, dinner at the steak house – then ending up at the Potato Head Club for her birthday drinks.

Happy Birthday Piggy!

Kuta 2013

Not to be confused with Kata in Phuket, Kuta was our next destination after Ubud.

We’d already done the jungle side of the island, so now it was time for the beach.

Actually though, our villa was so nice, we didn’t really want to leave it much – so only got to the beach on one day, despite the fact that it was only a 10 minute drive away!

Ubud 2013

Wow – now a new country for both of us!

Welcome to Bali – the chosen destination for Mrs Piggyton’s 23rd birthday.

We spent a long, long time finding some decent accommodation, but OMG, I think we got it right!

Ubud was the first area we stayed and is in the jungle area – say hello to the monkeys!

Janfusun Fancyworld

It’s time for theme park number two!

May we present to you – Janfusun Fancyworld – a cool place in a mountain near Douliou and only really accessible via car.

We got there a tiny bit late, so didn’t quite manage to get on everything, but still had a great time – and a very memorable ride in the big wheel as the park closed 😉

Two Days in Tainan

We had hoped to go to Tainan on valentines, but unfortunately we hadn’t booked a hotel, so we had to go back to Chiayi.

So, a few days later, we made the journey again (an hour or so down the freeway) – and this time of course, it wasn’t valentines, so all the hotels were free again.

Actually this was quite a cultural trip – mommy would be proud – lots of old buildings and temples to see 🙂

Valentines Day 2013

Our first valentines together – yay!

We visited the Tainan Hot Air Balloon festival, which, handily enough, was only a short drive from Chiayi.

We had just planned to go and watch them, but by the evening, we realised we could actually get some tickets and go in one for ourselves 🙂

Sure we didn’t see much up in the dark sky, but it was still an experience.

First Trip to Chiayi

I dunno why Jorge hates this place, I love it!

Back to Mrs Piggyton’s hometown just for a day until I flew to Thailand for my birthday.

Fell in love with the place from the moment I arrived, it’s clean, quiet and just …. NICE!

🙂
